Lalita Tademy rocketed onto the bestseller list after her 2001 "Cane River" became an Oprah book pick. Her third novel, the newly released "Citizen's Creek," tracks "Cow Tom" (based on a real man) — a black American owned by the Muscogee tribe who bought his freedom; then fought for family, tribe, land, and citizenship. Tademy also talks about why she left a high-profile job as a Vice President at Sun Microsystems to become a writer, and why the loss of control writing represents allowed her to open up to love. She married, quite happily, for the first time at age 55.
