Biden approves aid for Egypt without human rights restrictions

Joe Biden campaigned on “no more blank checks for Trump’s favorite dictator’ — Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi. But some human rights activists say that’s just what the Biden administration has done, by requesting $1.3 billion in military aid for Egypt without requiring an improvement in human rights. As The World’s Rupa Shenoy reports, now families of those imprisoned in Egypt are looking to the US Congress for help.
