Canada welcomes Ukrainian refugees, while Afghans still blocked by bureaucracy

Canada has offered temporary residency to an unlimited number of Ukrainians fleeing war, a stark contrast to how the country is handling the cases of Afghan refugees it promised to allow in. Afghans who once worked for Canadian forces in Afghanistan are potential targets of the Taliban as they await entry into Canada. As Emma Jacobs reports from Montreal, Canada’s rapid embrace of Ukrainians might create pressure for the government to bring Afghans into the country more quickly, as well.
